Shipping Container FAQs

A one-trip container is manufactured in Asia, loaded with cargo once, and shipped to the US. Once unloaded it's sold here. These are the highest-grade units available: original factory paint, clean marine plywood flooring, minimal scuffs and full CSC certification.

Cargo Worthy containers are structurally certified for international marine shipping under CSC rules — sound floors, walls, corner posts and doors. Wind & Watertight containers are guaranteed leak-free for ground storage but may have minor cosmetic dents or wear that prevent marine re-certification. Both are excellent for storage; CW is required if the unit will travel by sea or rail.

Yes. Every unit is pressure-tested for leaks, floors are probed for rot, and door seals are checked before listing. The grade on the listing is the grade on the truck — and our 90-day watertight guarantee backs it.

20ft and 40ft units in standard dry, high cube (9'6" tall), refrigerated (reefer), open top and side-door configurations. We also sell new one-trip and used units in every grade, plus custom office containers, container homes and cabins.

Choose by footprint and use: 20ft (115 sq. ft.) suits residential storage, single offices and tight sites; 40ft (262 sq. ft. floor, 2,385 cu. ft.) offers the best cost per square foot for warehousing, workshops and homes. For most conversions — yes. The extra foot of height adds 13–15% volume for roughly $500–$1,550 more on a new unit, and makes the interior genuinely usable for offices, homes and racked storage. See the comparison.

Used 20ft units start around $2,295; new 20ft from $2,200. Used 40ft starts at $2,675; new 40ft at $5,950. A $500–$1,000 refundable-before-shipment deposit holds your unit for up to 30 days. Balance is due on delivery, after you've inspected the unit. We accept checks, bank transfer and all major cards. Financing is available from $99/mo.

Sales tax is computed based on the delivery jurisdiction. Your written quote shows the tax line before you commit — what we quote is what you pay.

Yes. Equipment financing and lease-to-own plans are available for new and used containers, offices and homes — from $99/mo with 0% deposit options for qualified business customers. See financing details.

Freight is a flat $3.00/mile from your nearest regional yard. Typical timelines: 2–7 days for the Northeast, 5–14 days for the rest of the continental US, depending on route and scheduling. You get a delivery window and live tracking once your order is booked.

Tilt-bed drop trucks need 14 ft of height clearance and 12 ft of width clearance. For a 20ft container, plan 60 ft of straight-line clearance; for a 40ft, 100 ft. If your site is tight, ask about crane and extended-reach options. Full delivery guide.

Yes — tilt-bed drivers position units accurately, and crane placement is available for pads, decks, slopes and tight yards. We also supply leveling blocks and can bolt-down for anchoring.

Absolutely. Our modification studio handles spray foam insulation, HVAC, electrical packages, vinyl flooring, personnel doors, window framing, roll-up shutters, paint and full interior layouts. Share your blueprint and we'll quote it item by item.

Standard office builds ship in 2–4 weeks from deposit. Custom layouts and homes typically run 4–8 weeks depending on scope.

Yes — containers are built to be modified. Just remember: keep cutouts inside the corner-post zone, brace any large openings, and always check your local code before adding windows, doors or plumbing.
